Ben is the Skills Union Academic Director and has spent his career working across the education ecosystem. His expertise lies in setting up the people, processes and systems to launch and scale top-notch education programmes.
Ben has spent six years in both teaching and training new teachers in Essex and London for education enterprise Teach First. He then went on to lead the national expansion of Teach First's UK University Access and Careers Programme.
Ben later became Campus Director at tech school Flatiron and was responsible for expanding the campus from 30 students (with one program) to 150 students working across four programs, supported by with 22 staff.
Ben is now responsible for the creation and validation of various master’s level courses at Skills Union, with a goal of supporting people to change their career with tech skills. He has also led the creation of Skills Union's pedagogy and social active learning model.
Ben was educated at the University of Edinburgh and the University of British Columbia and has an MA in History. In his spare time, he plays the tuba, loves board games and swimming in the sea near his home in Brighton.
